The true colours of a company…

…are not seen when everything is going ok, but when things go wrong.

GORUCK are amazing products, I have several of their bags, but after I noticed a small fault on one of my items they sorted it out ASAP, including paying the postage from the UK before they even had it back and then rushing a replacement out to me including a free patch and sticker.

Top notch products and amazing service to back them up. Thanks guys.

It looks like I’ll be roughing it for two nights wildcamping in the middle of Dartmoor National Park and I am so freaking excited about that!

So jealous…I even have a new sleeping mat that I have not used yet. Running out of year to use it with my 1 season bag!

redteamsblog:

Last year we lost two of the Red Team members in two separate incidents in Afghanistan. They were there performing an assessment while attached to a military unit.
In one incident they took fire and one of the Team members, jumped out of his cover to assist a wounded soldier. He dragged the soldier to safety but he was shot while doing this. He died on the way to the field hospital.
The other incident was pure bad luck. A mortar round found its way to the position where the unit and the Team member were taking cover when the attack began. They had no chance.

Last year I put some of my watches and other gear for a raffle to help raise money for their families. This is year I would like to raise money in a way that everyone that donates gets something and after asking the guys in the Team, they all agree that tshirts are the best way. We all love them and we all need a cool, new tshirt.

So, we have created a new campaign with this tshirt. The design was made for the Team that went to Afghanistan. We figured it would be a good tshirt. I hope you guys like it.

Available in 4 different colors, the target is 100 tshirts. Make it count. Spread the word please!

Buy these t-shirts.

Michael Morris Friction folder. W1 steel file tempered to 58 Rockwell and fitted with Nickel pins into Micarta scales.

Green scales, bobtail handle shape with Wharncliff / sheepsfoot blade profile. Sub 3” so UK EDC legal (usual disclaimer of not being a dick) Temporary paracord lanyard from my bits box

Well worth the wait…and the bottle opener works really well too :)

"We are now up against live, hostile targets. So, if Little Red Riding Hood should show up with a bazooka and a bad attitude, I expect you to chin the bitch."

Dog Soldiers (2002)

Such a great film. If the little one is awake all night again I might put it on :)

Packing up for 36hrs on the moors tomorrow.
I know it’s a 72hour pack, but I’ve gotta start somewhere!
I might post a packlist, but that will probably be a massive pain in the arse.

It might be a “massive pain in the arse” but posting a picture of a loaded pack and not providing a packing list is in contravention of s8 paragraph 2 of the laws of the internet ;)Have a great trip and give us a review of the route when you get back!

A new addition to the family, another trip around the sun, catching up with old colleagues and talking network security over Belgium beer. I need more like this :)

Right, so after tomorrow I have nothing on the calender so it’s off to the Peaks.

But since some drunken eejits broke my hammock I have to quickly choose and obtain a new one.

The choice is: camo one, one with attached mozzy net (great for those northern midges!) or a really big lightweight nylon one, or DD Tarps one with a zip.

DD hammocks have a great reputation. Not used them my self but I have used the DD tarp on bivvie trips in bad weather.
